Bizarre Journey, Beautiful Feet | by Kris King . Maaannn, what a bizarre journey life can be! Personally, I just don’t understand all the plot twists, the “stuff” sometimes. Although I know His ways & thoughts are way above mine [Isaiah 55:9], at times the way things seem to go can be downright frustrating. It’s like an encouraging promise will be revealed, but not the road block (or blocks) you’ll encounter along the way. For example, your boy Joseph [Genesis 37]. He was given a coat of many colors and a powerful dream fortelling of his powerful and amazing future, yet... that part about being sold into slavery. By his own brothers. Oh, and Potiphar’s thottish (excuse the non-traditional-to-Sunday-School language) wife [Genesis 39]. Oh and the pit! Yes, he eventually makes it out and becomes governor over the land, which is an encouraging message and another blog post in itself. I am so excited to finally share another one of my new original songs. Thanks to my talented friend @ericasade who has amazing videography skills I had the opportunity and blessing to record a new song of mine a couple months back along side one of my most precious friends Chuy Lucia Brecera and it is now ready to share praise God! I wrote this song a few years back when I was going through a particularly challenging time dealing with some very difficult circumstances in my life that were completely out of my control. After much wrestling I believe God wrote this song upon my heart to remind me that no matter what was or wasn't going on in my tangible life, whether or not I could control my life, other people or circumstances , whether I was disappointed , whether my expectations were being met, whether I was in the valley of suffering or enjoying answered prayer - that in all things He is , always has been and always will be worthy of my worship and that my sole purpose is to give Him praise in all seasons good , bad, or indifferent . Last night was our first meeting of the season for Strength for Single Moms and I am blown away. God is moving so beautifully in his daughters!! I am continually amazed at how He divinely places and purposes for His children to till the soil of life TOGETHER. We plant together, we water together, we wait for sunshine and rain together and we reap together . We are never meant to walk alone , we are not meant to suffer alone, we are not meant to wander alone, no - our growth blooms the most vibrant not singularly but in a garden with many flowers 🌺. Praising God for these beautiful women that I get to serve and do life with. ❤️ @cfsisterhood #strengthforsinglemoms

I found some really cute landscapers to help with all of the aftermath cleanup of Hurricane Irma today. Our little Kemp-topia needs a lot of love , the piles on our swale are from just a small section of our yard, haven't even touched the back yet. It will take awhile to get it back to normal but can I say how therapeutic it has been! And yet I am painfully reminded that all we have to repair is a yard - trees grow back but my heart breaks for Puerto Rico and other islands that have been affected greatly right now with all of the devastation they are experiencing from Irma and Maria. Praying for those dealing with such great losses . Life is so precious, we have no control over which way the wind blows or the way life tosses us around but those whose hope rests in Christ alone can experience rest even in the darkest storms. If you are dealing with your own hurricane today...or the aftermath of one whether it be relational, financial, spiritual, health , a wayward child, divorce , loss, grief - I pray that you will fix your eyes on the God who clothes the lilies of the field and feeds the birds of the air and that you may experience peace in knowing He is your hiding place , your hope and your shelter. #bestill
