drop it like a squat. These are not my prettiest by far, and it’s so humbling the HUGE difference 5lbs. can make. Getting this left glute to fire as quick as my right has been part of the price. Looking forward to working at this weight for a bit and nailing it. Squats have never been my forte, but again we don’t shy away from weaknesses, we own up to them, and work from there.

SWITCH! It’s amazing how one small cue can make all the difference. In this case, it was having to break down the biomechanics of changing directions. Because it isn’t linear and I am moving laterally, so for me to efficiently change directions, I have to load the leg of the direction that I am initially going but shift my center of mass in the opposite direction to go the other way. As a runner, it’s as simple as left foot, right foot breathe. But in training it’s SO important to train the things you aren’t good at. To face your weaknesses head on so that eventually, they no longer become weaknesses. This drill was fun but brutal and I clearly have a way of jumping the gun 😂 notice the difference between video 1 and 2. I demanded another round because I knew I could do better and sometimes that belief alone, will go along way. Goal is to get lower and get quicker with my reaction time. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ @kelvingary @bodyspacenyc

trust your falls- the ungraceful landing is your opportunity. The amount of times you lean into the resistance isn’t insignificant. You are learning that flat on your face in failure is just an opportunity to get back up and be firm footed into greatness. Every time things never go your way it’s because there is something bigger brewing ahead. And the wave will crash into you; sometimes leaving you feeling washed up, out of breath, and desperate but, you. are. here. Guide yourself with your body, your being, your breath. Because patience is part of the process. And you’re not idly waiting, you’re stepping into the right to outgrow who you think you are and become all that you may not have realized yourself being. 🎥 @bodycarvin

I have to say, I haven’t met a team quite like this one that inspire me, to be my strongest and best self. In fact, I told @kelvingary I wanted to be Wonder Woman. That was one of my goals and man, does he make that happen every week. I say this a lot, but strength looks different on everyone. It sometimes is just showing up, it sometimes is trying AGAIN, it may look like “gains” and sometimes it looks like stillness when all you want to do is react. All I gotta say is I am grateful for my body for proving to me that everyday is an opportunity to do epic shit. I am grateful to have a team of people @bodyspacenyc who believe in others people goals and strength. Special shout out to @kelvingary for being my right hand man and biggest supporter even when I walk off and miss him trying to high-five me. So if you’re feeling down in the dumps think back to what you are grateful for, because those can be the very same things, someone else is hoping for.
